SF Urban Riders Connects Kids to Outdoor Fun
Our partner, SF Rec & Parks also has a youth bike program with summer day camps. Here are the details for summer 2014.
Mountain Biking for Kids
Our experienced instructors will teach proper off -road techniques of shifting, braking, hill climbing, descent, and body position. This class is designed to be an educational ride as well. Students are also taught how to preserve multi-use trails and co-habitate with other trail users and their environment. Trail etiquette and safety will also be addressed. Students should have at least 4 months experience riding a bike before enrolling in class. Mountain bike and helmet are provided but students are welcome to bring their own mountain bike. Students should also bring water, gloves, snack and sunblock. Class maybe canceled due to inclement weather.

Berms, Bumps, & Bunny Hopping: Mtn. Bike & BMX
This camp is for the two wheeled off road kid enthusiast.
Students who take this class should have at least 6 months experience riding and feeling comfortable on a bicycle. The camp goes over basic off road mountain bike techniques and basic BMX (bicycle motocross) track riding. This is a travel camp where kids go to mountain bike single track trails & BMX track locations in the bay area. Bikes/BMX bikes & helmets provided but students are welcome to bring their own mountain bikes and protective gear. Campers should bring backpack, riding gloves, lunch, water, snack, swim suit/towel, sunscreen, and clothing appropriate for the weather. Students should dress comfortably. No extended care. Meet at Richmond Rec. Pick up at 4pm.
